Inferno Hot Pilates: The workout that loves you back

Have you ever run into something that truly changes your life? Something that you were afraid of, but from the first moment you encounter it, you realize, “oh, yes, this is something I was put on this planet to do.” That is the feeling I had when I did Inferno Hot Pilates (IHP) for the first time, just six months ago.

The heat combined with the intense workout and combination of disciplines spoke to my inner warrior immediately. The whole vibe amped up my energy; the loud music, the blacklights and colorful party lights around the room, the aura coming from the instructor and the excitement of the other students was tangible. I found myself pushing harder than any other workout before, and more importantly doing it from a place of positivity and self-love.

The workout itself is incredible; using Pilates principles with Tabata formatting, low impact so it is easy on the joints, and high intensity to maximize results. The more time I spent doing Inferno Hot Pilates, the more I realized how therapeutic these workouts were for me. I noticed myself becoming more grounded and connected. I have been in recovery from CPTSD for about a year now and I found myself analyzing what the instructors were saying. The positive messages seemed to align with elements of my recovery. It was not until I attended IHP Teacher Training that I realized the intentionality of the language and cuing. Gabriella Walters, the founder of IHP, created a program that works on the body and the mind simultaneously.

As I embark on another Level of Teacher Training this coming weekend, I wanted to share what this modality has done for me and my progress on and off the mat. I implore you; take that trip, try that strange food, do that thing that scares you. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
